Sophisticated. Refined. Classic.

This classic bathroom was designed to complement the period features of a 1920s home. Modern practicalities such as the walk in shower are made in-keeping by combining with the traditional style brassware.

“Before we made a start I could see that the room was actually a very good size but the layout wasn’t making the best use of the space. The fittings were dated and didn’t suit the style of the rest of the house which had some beautiful period features. It was clear that the whole thing needed to be started from scratch.”

“I wanted to make the freestanding bath the focal point point of the new bathroom so I knew immediately that it would work perfectly positioned below the window, and opposite the door. The radiator was also moved within arms reach of the bath so that a towel could be warming up ready for the end of a relaxing soak in the bath.

The added advantage of moving the bath was that it allowed enough room for a large, separate shower enclosure. Across the back wall some boxing was created to house all of the concealed fittings, but I’ve always loved how this also provides a handy ledge for soaps, bottles and other items like decorations and accessories to really make a room feel homely.

I’m delighted with the way this room turned out and the extra attention to detail we applied so that the bathroom now perfectly fits in with the rest of this traditional home.”

“Every detail is so beautifully considered - perfect for when I need to unwind.”
