I have always been passionate about design and for as long as I can remember I have loved to draw, create and make things. Being a designer gives me the opportunity to meet and work with so many fascinating people, all from such diverse backgrounds and with such varying tastes. I really enjoy the challenge of arriving in a unique space and solving the puzzle of how to make a room work to my client’s needs.
I started out in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry as a young teenager helping out with installations, getting a ‘behind the scenes’ perspective and I have always felt this experience was the basis of the technical and product knowledge I have today.
I moved on to study Fine Art at DeMontfort University where I specialised in sculpture.
Almost immediately after graduating I got my first job as a designer and I have been a part of this exciting industry ever since.
My ambitions led me to start my own company, Narrow Lane Design in 2018. I feel I have developed a unique position in the industry. I noticed that the set up of a showroom could limit the choices my customers had and I wanted to remove that restriction. Over the years I have built a network of suppliers to make sure I can offer the best products, the best services and all for the best price.
For me, the most rewarding part of my job is seeing my initial scribbles and sketches develop into fully working rooms for my clients to enjoy. I can’t wait to get started on the next project.
